Mila’s Books

Our vision is to create endless options of accessible quality Pasifika stories and rich literacy resources across all school levels that reflect our Pasifika values, languages, cultures, and most importantly – our tamaiti.

We aim to create stories that help us and our tamaiti to be seen, heard and valued in the worlds we live in. This is why all our books help to develop cultural confidence, understanding and are – ‘Tusi Faitau for All the Fanau’.

all to reflect, reconnect and reunite in better supporting each other as who we are. It is also a

Teine Samoa

Launched in October in 2020, Teine Sāmoa was our first MG/YA paperback book for Intermediate School and High School students. It explores the cultural and identity challenges for four students and includes student study questions as well as the Teine Sāmoa Project – ideal for the classroom and home.

Mila’s My Aganu’u Series 1

Mila’s My Aganu‘u Series 1 are the first picture books in the world to be written, edited, illustrated, designed and published by an all Pasifika team. Aimed at middle to senior primary school students, these stories were created to engage and teach our tamaiti (children), ‘āiga (family) and faiā’oga (educators) about Samoan cultural elements, values and history.

Mila’s My Gagana Series 2

Mila’s My Gagana Series 2 are a set of dual early readers (two books in one) that teach basic gagana Sāmoa concepts while developing gagana and cultural confidence. Released with One Tree House Publishers, these stories are aimed at pre-school and junior primary students who will love the fun characters and illustrations.
