Duseigneur and Jimmi Sivia are based in the Seattle area. Though born worlds apart, Duseigneur in Amouli, American Sāmoa and Jimmi in San Diego, California, their lives have been connected by the Pacific Ocean, a symbol that continues to ground their family and their work.
They are the founders of the Pepe Faitau Book Company, a project that started when they couldn’t find Gagana Sāmoa board books for their two sons. Instead of waiting, they created their own and quickly realised other families were searching for the same stories. What began as something for their own `āiga has grown into a global movement embraced by families around the world.
Alongside running their business, they are full-time working parents raising their boys with independence, curiosity, and care. Everything they create is shaped by their everyday lives, their values, and the community that supports them. As creators, they are committed to producing meaningful, accessible books that reflect culture, language, and belonging.
More than anything, Duseigneur and Jimmi see their work as an extension of community. Through Pepe Faitau Books, they create not just products, but connections where customers feel like family, and every book carries care, intention, and love. What began as a passion project has grown into something far greater than they imagined, and they remain deeply grateful for the community growing alongside them.
